The Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday 8th August and so, once again, the new season starts! I would have to say that we would have had a record attendance with 59 attendees. The AGM saw changes to the crew with two members of the committee standing down...

How great was it that we managed to get two fantastic days fishing for our
belated Ngawi Big 3 2026.
We would like to thank ALL of you that managed to change plans to fish the
Ngawi Big 3 2026. What a FANTASTIC weekend. Two great days of fishing
with a huge variety of good fish caught.

Hi team,
Due to the current road conditions in and out of Ngawi, it will be no suprise that
we've made the call to postpone the 2026 Ngawi Big 3.
The new proposed dates are 13th, 14th & 15th March - subject to the road being
safe and accessible.

The weather is still continuing to hamper our attempts of having another Club Day.

This is a quick newsletter before our next club day on the 29 November and Christmas which is fast approaching.
So far, the weather gods have looked kindly on us and we managed to get our first Club Day in for the Season on the 4 October. We had 25 Anglers and 9 Boats, well done everyone for a great day.

Ahoy there!!
Our very short Summer has truly left us and winter weather is upon us. At present we are having very mixed weather.
However we were very fortunate to have our Second Club Day of the Season at Easter..
We had 47 anglers and 20 boats, and 4 junior anglers, which was a little down on what we were expecting. The Species
of fish, were somewhat fishing friendly.
Surprisingly there wasn’t a lot of big fish caught. You had to put your thinking caps on to try and find the big ones!! Well done everyone, you are all in the same boat.

We would like to thank ALL of you that survived the Ngawi Big 3 2025. What a FANTASTIC weekend. Two great days with a huge variety of fish caught.
This year we were fortunate enough with such hard economic times to have 299 Open Anglers, 16 Juniors, 7 Toddlers and 10 Landbase.
On behalf of the Ngawi Sports Fishing Club we would like to thank the Kawakawa 1D2 trust for the use of the land adjacent to the boat launching area. Without the use of this land our competition would not run as safely and successfully as it does.
A big thank you to the Boats that were able to assist other Boats in need of help.
Gloat Trophy - Congratulations to the Pukemanu Team on their win.

Ahoy there!!
At last, we were so lucky to host our FIRST CLUB DAY OF THE SEASON!! Fingers crossed that we will get many more in.
We had 78 Anglers and 31 Boats. It was very evident with the incidents we had on the day that some boats hadn’t had a decent workout for some time.

and weigh every fish in. It’s not the size that matters it’s all about the species!!!

We said goodbye to Duane Pirimona, Dave Barrett and Colin Montgomerie. THANK YOU IMMENSELY from the Committee and all the members of the Ngawi Sports Fishing Club for your time and dedication. You will be greatly missed. The last couple of years have certainly been challenging for the Club and your commitment and involvement has certainly been appreciated.

Yay, at last we have had our first club day. Unfortunately, I think the weather may have put a few anglers off however we hosted 35 anglers and 15 boats. I think the fish were the winners on the day; they were certainly hard to catch and needless to say we weren’t very busy at the weigh station.

Fantastic day in regards to the weather, fantastic if you were a fish that didn’t get caught, I think there were quite a few!
We had 74 anglers and 28 boats, and 3 junior anglers, so a great turnout. The Species of fish, I’m sure was very challenging for all. You had to put your thinking caps on but we were fishing for sustainability!! Well done everyone, you are all in the same boat.

Ahoy there!
What a great start to the New Year, we had our very first Club Day for the season. One could say we were fishing for sustainability; fishing was certainly hard, with a minimal amount of fish weighed in. So we are hoping that our Club day for Anniversary weekend is all go, hopefully no Easterlies.

We have had a very dismal start to our fishing season. We have only managed to hold the Pukemanu Challenge. Hopefully we will have a better start to the New Year with a club day on 2nd January 2023. The prize money has jackpotted; there will be over $3000 worth of prize money on the 2nd Jan.
